Use Jing to capture anything you see on your computer screen and share
Further to my last tips post I thought I would recommend a useful piece of software.
The software is Jing, which is a Techsmith product which is free to download. I quote from their site which says that :
“The concept of Jing is the always ready program that instantly captures and shares images and video …from your computer to anywhere”.
It sits at the top of your screen (or anywhere else you care to drag it) like a small, pale sun and is completely unobtrusive. Because it is “always on”you can instantly capture images and video.
You can select a window, part of a window, or you can click and drag cross-hairs to select a custom area.
You can capture an image or video (5 minutes) and add arrows, text and highlights, narrate your video, save it, copy it and then send it wherever you like.
It is quick and simple and I use it constantly and for many different purposes.

I like it!
You can upgrade to Jing Pro at any time and the cost is a $14.95 per year and this will give better video results
Again, this information is freely given to my readers, free to download and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Take a look here and try it:

Hey Dave,
Great tip!
Jing is a pretty awesome product. I used to use it for a little while until I started making video tutorials. I needed to upgrade to it’s big brother, Camtasia. Jing is a great product for the price though. I can’t recommend it enough.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for the comment. I love the way Jing just sits there and is so fast to capture. I’m still contemplating recording videos and trying to find the best way to go. Camtasia is definitely the way to go eventually. Your videos are excellent

Have to stop putting it off and get started

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the tip on Jing, after reading your post and Matt’s comments I will download it for myself.
I never made any videos, the equipment seems so pricey, but Jing is very affortable, I have to give it a try.
Hi Jeanette,
Your welcome! We are all in this together
)
I am about to attempt my first video myself for my blog using Jing or possibly Viddler.
As I see it at the moment it will be Jing for showing desk top videos and Viddler for me talking to the camera.
Have to stop putting it off! I hope to report back soon about the Viddler attempt.
Best wishes,
Dave
Wow, Dave!
This blog is awesome! Thanks for all the good information.
I didn’t know about Jing, either, that’s a great tip. I’ll have to try it. And the reminder to back up our work–can’t thank you enough!
We’re surely headed for success with leaders like you in the Alex Jeffreys’ coaching community!
My best to you,
