How To Speed Up Video

We are told that video is the way to go, and I have to say that I struggle to find the time to listen to all the available or required videos.

Now there is another excellent video (Frank Kern, John Reese and Anthony Robbins) which has just appeared (38 mins) and I really want to listen to it. Must find some time!

As with most people I can read faster than I can listen so it does tend to get frustrating at times and I find that my mind starts to wander even if I am listening to something very interesting.

Don’t get me wrong video is perfect for showing how-to subjects and amply prove that a picture is worth a thousand words. Video has made learning a lot easier.

Not too long ago I came across this software which is very good and I have found it very useful so I thought I would mention this here so that it might help some other readers. The software allows you to speed up or slow down (to make notes) videos whenever you want.

This is also interesting as just a few days ago  I was listening to a webinar by Rich Schefren (Guru to the gurus,) and one of the things he mentioned as one of the requirements for building your business was learning speed reading/listening/watching.

I hope this is useful.

How To Save Money On Ink Cartridges

One of the costs that really bothers me is the price of print cartridges and the number of times I have to replace them.

I have seen people mention $25 for a cartridge, and upwards in the US.

I wish! Twice that price that here.

Anyway, to cut to the chase, I came across a tip a couple of days ago which extends

the life of your cartridge by about 3 times but which also prints a lot faster.

You will hear new sounds from your printer!

I am sure some people are aware of this, but the tip is as follows:

When you wish to print, you click on File, then Print.

This box then appears:

Click on properties, as shown.

You will then find that it is set to “General Everyday Printing” by default.Click the drop down menu and you will

see an option for “Fast Economical Printing”. Click on this.

Now click “OK” and you are ready to go.

You will have to do this every time as far as I can see .

This will vary depending on both your system and computer but you should be able to find your way around following these instructions.

I have tried this for a few days and I have found that on my system B&W looks perfect, colors slightly faded.

I think this is a great tip for me. Obviously, if you are printing your best family photographs you will not use this.

I hope this helps somebody to reduce their online costs.

Update:

I have now found that you can set your printer to stay on “Fast economical printing” by doing the following:

Go to your “Control Panel”, click on “Printers and Other Hardware” (this may vary with your system) and go to your installed printer(s).

Highlight your printer and you should see a left side bar with the title “Printer Tasks”.

Click on “Select Printer Preferences” and there you can set your preferences as default.

This may vary with your operating system but this should give you an idea of the way to set your preferences.

Alex Jeffrey’s “Marketing With Alex”

Like many people I have been trying to start an online business. I have been trying for a year now and although I have some affiliate sites up I am not making a lot of progress.

I have also spent too much money buying the “latest and greatest” from the “gurus” and I now suffer from what is known as information overload. Does all this sound familiar?

However, there are a few pearls of wisdom I have learned along the way.

1) Don’t try to reinvent the wheel – follow success.

2) Get a mentor – all successful marketers have or have had a mentor.

3) Focus on one thing at a time

… and much more.

Alex Jeffreys came to my attention some time back, I watched the first coaching mentoring program which sounded like hell of a ride, and decided I had found my mentor. When the next mentoring program was announced I joined as soon as I could.

Last week I began my first coaching session with Alex Jeffrey’s “Marketing With Alex”.

The live coaching call started at midnight my time (GMT+1) so it was a question of keeping focussed as he went

through the module. I started to lose focus just after 3:00am as the two hour call was still in full flow!

Alex is definitely thorough and he stayed answering questions until everyone had had their say or queries were answered.

Thankfully, the call was recorded and within the next few days a recording of the call, the Powerpoint slides from the presentation, MP3 Audio and a module checklist was made available to the members. I’m sure students from some of the other parts of the world who couldn’t take part are grateful for that.

I know I am.
