As you may know I am a student of Alex Jeffrey’s Coaching.
There are plenty of active students on the members’ forum but in the last few weeks the forum has gone quiet, and further to that, people do not seem to be posting on their blogs quite so often.
I assumed that they were all away busy creating products, getting traffic, making money etc, and I wondered what my problem was, as I had more or less come to a halt.
There is always a reason of course for inactivity, ranging from family business, illness, prior commitments or to just plain “hitting the wall”.
That was me last week – a lot of family commitments, a bit of illness and a complete lack of focus.
However, our mentor Alex Jeffreys has surfaced again after his wedding and honeymoon to tell us how unfocused he became, how many distractions he has had during that period – and so on.
Then he told us what he was doing about it
Since then other people have also mentioned their distractions, their illnesses, “hitting the wall” or just good old plain procrastination!
So, what is the point of all this?
Internet Marketing is for the most part a lonely business.
We sit hunched over our computers, in our own little worlds, possibly thinking when it all goes wrong that this only happens to me.
But now we find out that not only are we the only ones affected, but that even successful marketers can have similar problems, just like anybody else.
The point is, don’t beat yourself up for losing focus, having a spot of procrastination, having to commit to your families but just get past it, take a break, have that family time, or whatever is best for you, and then get going again. This is not a race.
Success is about attitude.
There are basically two types of people in this business.
First there are the ones who cave in under pressure and eventually just give up, and then there are those that pick themselves up every time it all goes wrong and just get going again – and again.
These are the successful marketers.
So, take action. Give it your best effort. Keep chipping away and make progress bit by bit.
You are not alone and if you are stuck – ask for help! Get life back on track!
You do not need to be a member of the Alex Jeffrey’s Coaching Forum to do this. You can ask for help in many of the online forums relating to your niche or the Warrior Forum where you will always find someone to help.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Hi Veronica,
Thanks for the comment. I’ve already made a few changes as not too happy with my English.
Time to take a trip to UK I think.
Recommend away, Veronica – no problem.
I left a comment on your blog which is coming on fine.

I really liked this post. And it comes just in time.
Something weird is going on and lots of people I know have hit a brick wall. Even the legendary Alex Jeffreys. But as you say, it’s now that we see who’s going to keep at it and finally make a success of him(her)self.
Nicely put and very timely.

Hi Gil,
Glad you liked the post.
Today is Wednesday so we shall see what Alex will come up with tonight.
Midnight start again but I think I saw somewhere that you are in Israel so even worse for you.
Dave
Excellent post Dave. It’s so true that there are two types of people – those who give up and those who keep going. This business takes dedication and commitment and most people give up just before they start to make it. I could have given up a thousand times but chose to keep going and it has definitely been worth it for me.

Hi Paula,
Thanks for your kind comments.
I follow you both with RSS Google Reader as I like both your site and your posts.
Hope to learn from you
Well… it took me almost 2 years to get my business started and make some decent money online. I have to admit that it’s Chris who got me started from the beginning because he gave me the most important knowledge that most gurus didn’t: the mindset of a business man who never give up. Seriously, I tried and tried and tried so many times and nearly gave up but his words kept me on track.

Hi John,
You are right about Chris. He is one of the few who gives real value and always over delivers.
