I have had an invitation to join Google Wave, which at present is in beta.
The following is an attempt to inform people about what is coming next.
I think we are looking at the future here, and so far, I just wonder how I am going to get my head around all this
I have said this before though, so I am sure I will get to grips with it eventually.
The following, plus the long video, should give some sort of idea about Google Wave.
Interesting?
Perhaps, but I am sure a lot of people will grasp this with both hands! Enjoy!
Google Wave is designed as a new Internet communications platform.
What is a wave?
“A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.
A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.
A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time.
Here’s how it works:
In Google Wave you create a wave and add people to it.
Everyone on your wave can use richly formatted text, photos, gadgets, and even feeds from other sources on the web. They can insert a reply or edit the wave directly.
It’s concurrent rich-text editing, where you see on your screen nearly instantly what your fellow collaborators are typing in your wave. That means Google Wave is just as well suited for quick messages as for persistent content — it allows for both collaboration and communication.
You can also use “playback” to rewind the wave and see how it evolved.”

Well, whether you kept at it until the end or left early you should now have some idea about Google Wave.

Google Wave – How To Do More In Less Time [link to post]

Hi Dave,
Google Wave sounds interesting and will probably become popular.
Right now though I don’t think that I’ll get involved with it. It may be fun to play with it but it seems that it will be very time devouring exercise.
Yet another distraction I’m afraid.
But who knows, it might evolve into something that people will have to get into.
Have you grown to like it and got used to it yet?

Hello again Vance,
I have not got too involved with Google Wave yet as it is early days and you need other people to interact with – and so on.
It is making the news and I always feel it is nice to know a little about what other people are talking about.
It looks like a natural progression to me and I expect it will run!
